Teotitlan Del Valle

This photo was taken in a picturesque valley, occupied by the Zapotec people, in the state of Oaxaca, Mexico, during a visit with the local weavers. I spent many days in this valley over a period of fifteen years, working with weavers to both market their traditional designs as well as helping to develop contemporary designs for the current generation. ca.1982.
