Delbert Vandervere Evans Turquoise - SOLD
Delbert comes from a family well known in Native American jewelry making circles. Twelve of his siblings are involved in the jewelry arts. Their inspiration came from their father, a highly skilled jeweler who instilled in Delbert the ideals of uncompromising quality from the initial design to the final polishing of his hand wrought creations. Delbert is from Gallup New Mexico and is on his mid 50’s. His silverwork on this piece, especially the hand made bezel, is outstanding.

This ring, featuring a beautiful high grade 19 carat cabochon of rare turquoise from the Evans mine, located in Baja, California. This mine was covered up many years ago and there is very little turquoise still available from this location. The ring is size 7 and is adjustable.

I acquired a large stash of this turquoise over many years. First, in the early 1980's, I met the silent partner from the mine and began buying some of his old material. Several years later, the son of the active partner who worked the mine,
called me to say his father had passed away and he wanted to sell his Dad's personal collection. Well, this turned out to be the best of the best that ever came from this mine, and I have been slowly cutting cabochons from it ha=and having them set.
