Sonoran Sunrise IV
48.75 cts and measuring 26 x 31 mm. This beautiful and unique copper oxide comes from Sonora, Mexico. While exploring for copper the miners came across this material at a deep level and excavated all they could and then went on to another level. They never came across anything similar after that. The material is made up up cuprite, malachite and crysacola. The patterns are amazing! Although there was quite a bit of this material when it was first discovered it is becoming quite rare. This piece is unusual because it also has quartz running through it.
